In a recent interview Miyavi has announced he'll be collaborating with KoRn bassist Fieldy!
APA: Who else are you planning to collaborate with?
MYV: I'm probably going to work with Fieldy (Reginald Arvizu) from KORN too. I just want to go beyond categories, just collaborate to make chemistry.
APA: Do you have any future projects besides embarking on your world tour?
MYV: Nothing. Just playing the guitar. It's pretty cool to have a band like with X-Japan, Yoshiki and Gackt, S.K.I.N., which I did a few years ago, but now I'm just playing the guitar. That's it. I just want to do collaborations with other artists. As I said, I'm gonna play with Fieldy from KORN, that's pretty cool. I'll appear in a bunch of festivals, rocking out. That's it. That's all I want to do.

And after a way too long wait, CoMYVz Crew is finally back up with a brand new website! We're very very sorry for our long absense, but now we're back and better than ever!
After being the biggest fansite for years, MasaKarasu has recently decided to close it's doors, as you all probably know already. To make sure that the content wouldn't get lost, CoMYVz Crew is now hosting most of the articles and interviews they had up, so don't forget to check it out! MasaKarasu did some amazing things for the fanbase, and they should never be forgotten.
We also have a brand new lyrics page! So make sure to check out the WHAT'S MY NAME translated lyrics! It's still a work in progress, but our CoMiyavi translators are working hard to bring you English versions of all lyrics!
We have a few projects running, so there's a lot of things you can look forward to: New interviews, A new fanproject the crew is gonna collaborate on and also translations of Miyavi's old O-RE-SA-MA.com blog are in progress! So make sure to keep checking up on us!
There were several reasons for which we planned to start our part of the tour this year with Amsterdam. One of which is that Gise, our Crew webmaster lives in the Netherlands and we were really dyeing to see her.
The plan was to camp from middle day on the 28th as other friends kept arriving from the Paris lives or different cities. There was a different band playing there that day and we found ourselves in the awkward position of being confused with their fans, so we decided to move farther way from the venue near a bench by the water with a small sign saying MIYAVI LINE to attract other CoMiyavis. It turned out our group wasn't the only one camping as we met another 3 lovely girls. Despite the cold it felt like a party and as such we felt it was an absolute necessity to get some booze. We only drank enough to keep us warm though, as no one wanted to face a Miyavi live with a hangover and spent the greater part of the night chatting.
People were incredibly nice too. The people at the police station over the street let us camp, and the security at the venue even left the front lights on for us that night, but the actual surprise came in the shape of a black tour bus right when we were getting ready to sleep. Of course everyone forgot about sleep as we watched Miyavi's staff argue with the other band's tour bus that had yet to leave. At a certain point Spike and Bobo jokingly pretended to push the other bus out of the way.
We didn't get even a glimpse of Miyavi that night, but knowing he was sleeping just a few meters away made us feel a lot safer and even a tiny bit warmer (not enough to be actually able to get some rest though )
IRIMACHI was a complete failure as well as we had all moved by the bench we've camped at the previous day ( some 20 people) and were spread out soaking in the sun trying to warm up and get some energy out of it. Needless to say everyone but Funky completely missed Miyavi entering the venue. I hope he was at least amused by our impromptu tanning session.
The EU street team project was sadly not as much of a success as we have hopped as we found all posters in various stages of being either ripped or covered or not there at all anymore. The flyers left at Melkweg were also nowhere to be found.
Our LIGHT in the DARK project was a success though and we managed to sell 200 glow sticks and spread as many donation flayers, gathering around 60 euro. As the last hour of our wait drew to an end we kept ourselves busy by making hope banners for the first row.
Busy with all that, we almost didn't feel the time fly and before we knew it doors opened and it was time to finally see MIYAVI again after 1 and a half years.
Melkweg is a horrible venue. At least if not horrible, than discriminating, not everyone is as tall as the Dutch :) After 30+ hours of camping, it was rather nervew wrecking to have numbers 1 to 3 in the que line and yet enter the venue to run right into a wall rather than a stage.
The people we queued with were wonderful though and in the venue we could look out for eachother. It was really amazing how they held back from pushing and allowed us enough space between eachother to be able to both dance and see decently.
MIYAVI was late, and though usually you don't even feel the one hour spent in the venue, this time around time refused to flow. It felt forever with the fear of pushing and stress of the ridiculous high stage but the one constant fact of Miyavi's lives was proven yet again:
When he walks on stage you forget everything. You forget you are running on one hour of sleep in freezing weather. You forget you've spent your day chasing patches of sun in between two buildings that barely allowed any. You forget you barely had any food and are threatened by a nasty cold. You simply forget everything and realize how true the lyrics are. You can SURVIVE with love.
The moment he walks on stage something snaps, something changes, like his very presence has somehow access to an OVERDRIVE button deep inside your mind and you know you can't stop ROCKIN with him until you drop.
His new look has been talked about a lot ever since the start of the Japan leg of the tour but let me tell you, pictures and videos do him no justice. He is the very definition of his name. Natural hair color and a hair cut that's perfect for head banging and nothing but eyeliner that finally allows you to notice his amazing eyes.
Sadly for Holland the emotion reflected in those eyes broke our hearts. To say the show started bad would be an understatement. As soon as he walked on stage playing the first notes of WHAT'S MY NAME there was a rain of camera flashes ( which we could barely see given our height, but this is according to Gise, who is far taller) and he struggled to keep his anger in check through the song the song by kicking the air and hitting the guitar so hard we were afraid he was going to cut his finger on the strings again.
Spike tried to calm him down but MIYAVI's one gesture of stopping him with a hand on his chest before he could come any closer spoke volumes . He was disapointed and bitter and almost on the verge of crying by the end of the second song when the flashes had yet to stop and though we were trying to franatically cheer him up from the first two rows, it became soon evident that this had been a problem that has bothered him more than he ever let us know. MIYAVI would never walk off stage on a whim.
"I'm not a model" he finally said when he calmed down enough to talk to us, and I know those of us who are CoMiyavi did not dare look up at him, that's how ashamed we felt. I am a musician, I play my music and I want you feel it. So put away the cameras and feel it".
He started SURVIVE with a "LISTEN" that was full with the meaning of the previous request and that is when the crowd went wild as if to make up for it. Some flashes continued but the first two rows started protesting loudly against it to MIYAVI's amusement.
From there on the concert was HOT and it became obivious to any of the CoMiyavi who know him well enough that he was proving a point playing his guitar with an anger that created a hypnoticaly raw yet perfect sound to spell his emotions clearly for those who would just "LISTEN".
He's not just a gorgeous man. He is a PERSON, he is an ENTERTAINER, but most of all, when on stage, he is a MUSICIAN. The sounds he creates are a clear picture of his soul, one that you cannot capture with a camera.
Because of the intense emotions songs like GRAVITY were especially powerful and other than the part when he asked for a moment of silence for Japan he spent most of the MC time scolding the crowd on a considerably lighter tone than at the begining of the show.
"This is my what...? 3rd time in Netherlands right? I was looking forward to seeing you guys again, don't disapoint me" or, "I almost hated your cuntry for a moment but I can never hate you. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU and...I LOVE YOU" I'm sure pretty much everyone can guess what song came next.
The new songs of the night were CHASE, JUSTICE, Hell NO and yet the unamed that says "Stomp your feet, clap to the beat" and talks about SEX and FREEDOM. No we did not mishear that's what he actually sings about. It's different than his usual lyrics but it's strangely mesmerizing kind of groove.
CHASE and Hell NO are purely brilliant and if this is a glimpse of what we can expect of the new album, than all we can say is "FUCK YEAH!"
JUSTICE is, to quote a Japanese music critic whom I've translated a while ago, simply psychedelic. Ranging from soft whispered almost prayer like lyrics "Hey God give me salvation, forgive us" to a guitar rhythm that is sure to get stuck in your head for days and finally ending in an overlapping increasingly powerful guitar sound that as you close your eyes gives you the distinct feeling of being high on pure music. It's elating, and rather impossible to put into words.
For the acoustic corner the requested song was ITOSHII HITO and he honored the request with perhaps the most amazing live version of the song I've ever heard. The crowd too responded by singing along for the entire length of the song as people linked arms and it felt that, that one perfect moment made up for the bad start. It finally felt like we could reach out to him, and nothing beats that feeling.
Encore was a continuation of Futuristic Love that's left on loop quite like what he did for the Screaming out from Tokyo tour, but the surprise came in how fast he actually comes back on stage. It can't be more than 5 minutes, which is good, because once he was gone and the magic broke I for one felt pretty close to fainting. He came back with his phone, and made a show of filming a guy that was taking photos, before he went back to killing the last drop of our energy with Futuristic Love. What a Wonderful World and SURVIVE concluded the amazingly eventful live living us both ecstatic and with a bitter sweet after taste.
You never realize just how deeply emerged you became in what Miyavi is until that one moment after the show when you step back outside the venue and realize you don't recognize the place, as if you've been forcefully pulled back from another amazing world and back into the normal one.
DEMACHI was a quiet affair, we were determined to wait even though we had been camping for over 32 hours and entertained ourselves by tweeting at Miyavi's CWIF account to tell him how freezing cold we are and laughing at BOBO when he tried to exit through a locked glass door and failed.
Our small group of CoMYVz Crew members and some old and newer friends ( around 8 people) was sitting quietly on the other side of the street . We could see MIYAVI before he even exited the venue, as he had to pass through a glass hallway to exit Melkweg.
He seemed tired and sad, walking with his head down and for the second time that night it broke our hearts. We quickly decided to add apologies to our already planned OTSUKARESAMA DESHITA but as he appeared from behind another band's bus, none of us could get ourselves to open our mouths and say a word. He however lifted his head and looked straight at us, though how he knew to look is still a mystery to us.
None of us sat up, we said our "Otsukaresama deshita" and added "We're so sorry!" To our surprise he stopped all together and turned to face us "It's ok" he said blowing us a kiss and then added something that none of us, too stunned by the fact that Miyavi was just 2 meters away on the other side of the street, actually talking to us, heard. "What?" Gise was the one who was articulate enough to ask and he smiled a bit, repeating what he had said "Don't catch a cold". We were all smiling and I'm sure all of us wished we could tell him how his words had warmed our hearts in the chilly night but instead all we could say was "We love you". Apparently it was enough because he bowed and blew us another kiss before he turned around and walked to the bus.
We waited for a few seconds and then stood up ourselves, to begin the long walk back to the train station and finally to a few hours of sleep. But neither exhaustion, nor the cold that night could wipe the smiles off our faces.
Amsterdam live was like a rollercoaster ride, but we couldn't be happier that we were there.

"We are speachless, but not hopeless"-MIYAVI-
I'm sure a lot of us felt powerless in the wake of the JAPAN tragedy. We've prayed and cried for them, and we've felt more than ever that: WE ARE ONE, not only in times of happiness, but also in times of grief.
Though it's easy to let ourselves fooled into believing there's nothing we can do, we thank MIYAVI for teaching us yet again how much we can do by simply showing our love
Because ONE SMILE is worth A THOUSAND WORDS, and because we can do at least that,we HOPE for JAPAN, that our smiles and love may bring them a brighter tomorrow.
People, places, projects, the whole WORLD is in a constant changing process.
Starting 2011,Masa Karasu, the bigest MIYAVI fansite for over 5 years has officially ceased activity.
However, "if there are no partings, there would be no encounters" and as we've had the honor to take over where Masa Karasu has left, we can only hope everyone will show us the same support you have shown this amazing project over the years.
That being said, we are CoMYVz Crew a site made by CoMiyaviz, for CoMiyaviz.
Check us out!

Though MASA KARASU has stopped activity, they surely won't be forgotten.
Part of the agreement between us was to take the incredible ammount of content they have gathered through the years so that the community can continue to have a place with comprehensive, complete info on our Samurai Guitarist.
While MK is giving all this info freely, we've decided that this tribute tags are the least we can do in response.
In other words, the MK tag marks transfered content, and is our tribute to a job amazingly
well done!
Their incredible work and dedication will surely never be forgotten.
Thank you Masa Karasu!
